A small and friendly company is seeking a technical support engineer with excellent client-facing skills. Their successful commercial software is used by researchers and academics through the UK, Europe and Australia.

The role of the technical support engineer will be suitable for a self-starter who enjoys the opportunity to liaise with end-users of the software. It includes taking responsibility for new software installations as well as supporting existing installations (both cloud- and local-hosted), trouble-shooting issues and delivering client training in Cambridge. Much of the installation and ongoing support can be carried out remotely but there will be some travel to customer sites.

This is a junior position but there is scope within this small company to progress your career with opportunities for the right candidate to become involved in software development.

The requirements are:-

  • Degree in a relevant technical subject
  • Experience of ASP.NET web applications
  • Knowledge of SQL server
  • Excellent communications skills, particularly liaising with clients
  • Some experience with AWS would be of interest
