This is a very rare opportunity for an experienced Engineering / Technical / Software Manager with a solid knowledge of the software development lifecycle to be “in-at-the-start” of an exciting new project, and to join a renowned, incredibly bright and highly respected team working on leading edge applications encompassing Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Computer Vision, Planning Systems, Robotics, Control, 3D Graphics / Mapping. Only the best need apply: you should have an outstanding academic background (top degree from a top Uni) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or similar, plus proven technical and managerial skills - along with the drive and ambition to work in a fast-paced environment & rapidly advance your career.

In this challenging role, you will apply your people skills, best practice guidance and technical / software development background to have an impact on project delivery and predictability of outcomes, whilst also ensuring team health. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a small team, nurturing their professional, technical & personal development
  • Mentoring, advising and leading the team, championing and furthering modern software development best practice
  • Providing continuous feedback, improving performance, and recognising the individual strengths and contributions of your team members
  • Providing input to the wider technical & architectural discussions

As an experienced technical manager, you should have a solid record of successful team growth, demonstrable experience in navigating the space between research and implementation, and proven skills in leading, coaching and mentoring development teams to deliver high quality, robust software. You should enjoy working in a collaborative, driven environment and be committed to solving technical and process challenges creatively.
