Data Visualisation Specialist - Big Data (23794)

Cambridge
£60k DoE plus good benefits
Filled

numerical, algorithmic, visualisation, software tools, Qt

Can you offer proven “big data” visualisation experience along with a background in algorithm / software development? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established international company and to be “in at the start” of a project to develop innovative graphical data visualisation tools for data structures with millions of nodes.

Your task will be to identify what it is that the users are trying to “see” and designing the appropriate applications and user interfaces to enable them to interrogate the underlying data in innovative ways. You will work directly with end users to enable them to access and visualise complex data in novel ways innovating software tools and interfaces that simply don’t exist in current applications.

This is a truly unique opportunity for big data visualisation, GUI and algorithm co-development. Essentially this role has the power to improve decision making and the quality of information provided for making those decisions.

In addition to an impressive and relevant academic record (excellent numerate degree &/or PhD) you should already have significant data visualisation and software experience. It is likely that you will be experienced in the use of Qt and will have proven skills in algorithm development and the analysis of complex data structures. You should also have solid communication abilities to be able to interact with end users and fully understand their requirements and to convey this to other members of the software team. The role will involve occasional travel to the client’s European and international offices as well as customer sites.

Candidates across all levels of experience will be considered if they can offer relevant skills.
