Particle Accelerator Engineer (24052)

Have you ever worked on a particle accelerator, writing code to control these highly-powered scientific platforms? We are looking for the next member of a small engineering team that design and develop EPICS control software tools used in a particle accelerator.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Physics, Electronics or Computer Science.
• Relevant experience with C / C++ and ideally working knowledge of EPICS core (including drivers). At a minimum, some experience to Open Source control systems would be required.
• Knowledge of layer 4 communication protocols would be desirable.
• Broad OOP experience within a UNIX environment. Highly desirable is knowledge of the Linux kernel, embedded systems and accelerator software control design.

This is not your usual software role, and as well as having the kudos of working on a particle accelerator system, an excellent remuneration package is available. Both Engineer and Senior Engineer level candidates are invited to apply.
