Engineering Director: Top Cambridge tech firm (24117)

Cambridge
to £95k (DoE) + top benefits & bonus

engineering director, technical lead, management, software, hardware, Cambridge

This company is an established Cambridge technology developer with an excellent track record of software and hardware systems that have seen commercial success in a variety of industries. They are partnered with major clients worldwide, including several household names. It’s likely that you’ll have encountered some of their products already without realising they were the brains behind it!

As they take on further projects and contracts, they are now seeking an Engineering Director as a key role in their technology R&D team. This is a new position for the team, as they separate out team management from business development duties in their current structure. The successful candidate will be someone who has proven experience in technical team leadership in a commercial environment, though this doesn’t necessarily have to be in a previous ‘Director’ position if you can demonstrate the relevant attitude and expertise in a senior position and can step up to the mark.

Communication skills, leadership, motivational abilities, project management and an ability to prioritise and delegate a wide range of tasks will be crucial in this position. The Engineering Director will be responsible for a team of c. 40 engineers and will work directly with the company’s senior management as they establish their growth plans for the next decade.

On top of this, further experience demonstrated in your CV must include:

  • a formal technical background, with a 2.1 in a numerate subject from a top Russell Group university;
  • “hands-on” techie experience as an engineer (software or hardware);
  • exposure to the complete development lifecycle of commercial software or hardware projects;
  • team leadership and/or project management responsibilities (though formal certificates are not required).

Due to the commercially sensitive nature of this position, candidates will need to submit CVs and also sign an NDA before receiving further information about this opportunity. The successful candidate will enjoy a very competitive remuneration package, with further bonus incentives and senior management responsibilities. If this sounds like you, then get in touch with your CV now!
