Polyglot Software Engineer (Start-up) (24368)

Cambridge
to £55k DoE
Filled

Android, Linux, Web Services / Cloud, Start-up, Multidisciplinary

Most start-ups are brash, describing themselves as saving the planet or helping mankind whilst the products they develop are little more than tools to quicken an enterprise process.

This company is quietly going along in the background, proving their worth and fulfilling their milestone ambitions. Their future plans are to have their technologies be the gateway for truly personalised diagnostic healthcare, and they are growing their teams to accomplish their goals. They currently seek a Polyglot Software Engineer to join them.

Requirements:

  • Bright and a natural problem solver. Likely to have a degree in computer science, engineering, maths or physics from a top ranked university.
  • Will be comfortable writing low level code for a device driver as well as high language programming for scalable Web Services and Cloud platforms.
  • Ideally experience with Android / Linux kernel development.
  • Will be competent using all or most of: Python, JavaScript, C++, C, Java and Ruby.
  • Good understanding of delivering a commercial software project including software testing and continuous integration.

An interest working within a multidisciplinary team (electronics, mechanical, physics) is central for the right profile, as projects are complex and multi-layered. Similarly, candidates should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
