Life Science Postgraduate Consultant (24471)
Are you a postgraduate in the life sciences looking for an interesting job in the commercial world? This forward-looking company are looking for scientists with a strong interest in data mining, data science and NLP to help develop resources for their clients.
The company’s acclaimed technology helps scientists and scientific companies to extract meaningful data from vast information sources using NLP and machine learning. You’ll be considering how to apply this technology in meaningful ways to the life sciences, and you’ll be working hands-on in this area in Python.
You’ll bring:
- A good degree and postgraduate studies in biology, genomics or bioinformatics, and top A-level grades; commercial experience is a bonus, but is not required
- A strong interest in a commercial role which takes advantage of your specialist knowledge
- An interest in data, data science and working in a company with expertise in machine learning and natural language processing (NLP)
- The mindset to classify and categorise data, for example ontologically or taxonomically
- Experience with resources such as PubMed and Entrez
- Good Python programming skills
