This growing company is seeking an Electronic and Software Engineer with some commercial experience to join their team working on innovative development, rapidly creating technology solutions to solve the challenges addressed by protection and defence forces. The nature of the work means that you must be able to gain UK security clearance.

Each challenge is unique; a developed system will typically contain high-speed electronics, FPGAs, machine vision, low-noise analogue and data capture systems.The project may be a novel sensing device, signal processing, optical system or secure communications.

You will have a strong experimental and hands-on approach and the drive and verve to assimilate new technologies. Your work may form part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, rendering the scope to continue adding to your technical skills whilst assuming wider commercial and team leading expertise.

You will have:

  • A 1st or 2:1 in a relevant subject from a world class university; a PhD would also be of interest.
    Also, good knowledge of a number of the following:
  • High-speed digital electronic design.
  • Analogue electronics.
  • Power electronics.
  • FPGA firmware.
  • Embedded software.
  • Algorithm development, in areas such as data fusion, machine vision.

You will have existing commercial experience; you may have some experience in leading small projects or the aspiration to do so.

This is a full time, permanent, commercial UK role. Applicants require full existing permission to live and work in the UK without time limit and the ability to gain UK security clearance.
