This Cambridge based company seek a smart, experienced Java EE developer to join a team as a Lead Java Engineer. They provide enterprise-scale cross-platform data solutions: from front-end mobile / web to complex back-end data manipulation.

They are looking for someone with a real fervour for code and design which combines simplicity and maintainability, and who will enthusiastically contribute to the senior development team.

The scope of the Lead Java Engineer will include developing system architecture, leading and mentoring development teams, ensuring a consistent balance between quality, time and costings, helping to define programming standards within the company and recognising the potential of new technologies.

The successful Lead Java Engineer will demonstrate extensive experience with:

  • software architecture design;
  • Java EE development in a modern Agile environment;
  • databases (Oracle, SQLServer or PostgreSQL) for complex spatial data manipulation;
  • continuous integration and delivery practices, incl. git, Jenkins, Maven, or similar;

The Lead Java Engineer will be degree educated in a relevant subject (a high 2.1 Honours degree in a numerate disciplne), with full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.
