Real-time, resource constrained devices for medical research and therapeutics

This successful, Cambridge-based company develops market-leading products and technologies used in both healthcare and medical research worldwide. Their products combine software, electronics, and mechanical components, often in resource- and energy-constrained environments. They are seeking a Senior Embedded Developer to join their team as they develop new products through concept, prototype, and eventually manufacture stages.

Candidate CVs will need to demonstrate a minimum of:

  • A strong technical background (2.1 or above from a top Russell Group university) in Computer Science or a numerate science / engineering discipline;
  • Commercial experience in C or C++ development for embedded applications;
  • Exposure working in resource-constrained, real-time environments;
  • Experience with the full life-cycle of new hardware / products from concept to manufacture.

Further experience in UNIX-based environments (with a gcc toolchain) and working in regulated industries (ideally medical) will be a strong addition to any application.

Aside from a competitive salary and benefits package for the successful candidate, on offer is the opportunity to work on genuinely life-changing products that are crucial to current medical research and healthcare. The company is based in north Cambridge, with excellent transport links via road, bike and public transport.
