This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to work remotely on an award-winning web application that makes a positive difference to thousands of small businesses.

Our client is a trailblazing online platform, with a world-class Net Promoter Score (NPS). They are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team responsible for developing their app, introducing new features and enhancing its user facing sections.

The team is a friendly and collaborative group of engineers, developers and product managers, spread out across the country. The company is committed to promoting remote working and 40% of the engineering team now do.

The Senior Software Engineer would be expected to maintain and enhance the features of the core and new products. They will also have the opportunity to lead and mentor junior members of the team, as well as plenty of chances to improve their own skills through training, attending conferences and company hackathons. The team mostly uses Ruby on Rails and JavaScript, but those skills are not absolutely necessary for a bright, experienced software engineer, as training will be given to those who show promise.

Attributes of successful candidates would include:

  • Commercial experience of developing and maintaining web applications
  • Good attention to detail, tempered with demonstrable pragmatism
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • Motivation and enthusiasm to untangle and simplify complex problems
  • Commitment to developing their own technical knowledge and skills

You will need a good degree (2.1 or above) preferably in Maths, Physics, Computer Science, or similar technical subject, together with strong A-level grades. Full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship will also be required.
