Mission critical robotics, software, analysis, client facing troubleshooter

This top Cambridge company produce sensor-laden smart devices and powerful supporting software. Together these keep a watchful eye on high-tech production lines around the globe. In this key role you will offer consultancy and advice to clients, and troubleshoot mission critical software and hardware deployments.

You will have experience working with clients to support complex products, and you'll bring a professional's understanding of relevant technologies, which include:

  • Distributed systems, IoT, embedded systems, OS
  • Networking e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, DNS, 802.11, switches
  • Linux and Windows deployments, VMs, and scripting

This is a client-facing role and can be fast paced. Your clear thinking, calm and intellect will be put to good use, as will be your ability to think laterally, remain positive, prioritise, and cultivate good working relationships with other experts.

If you have coding knowledge, that would be advantageous – but is not a key part of the job, nor required. To meet academic requirements, you will hold a good degree in a physical science or engineering subject from a top university, and strong A-level grades.

Clients are global, so from time to time you will need to speak urgently with engineers in Asia and the Americas allowing for the time zone differences. Candidates who enjoy travel will appreciate the occasional expenses-paid trips to high-tech centres around the world.
