Desktop software working with complex mechatronic products

This company designs and manufactures complex mechatronic products which automate and accelerate medical healthcare, diagnostics and clinical research. They are seeking an experienced C# Software Engineer to join their established team, creating new products for users to manage and control these machines from a desktop environment, and visualise any data or results that are generated.

The successful C# Software Engineer will have proven commercial experience delivering desktop products which interact with external hardware or mechatronics systems. Specific requirements include:

  • fluency with C# and the .NET framework for desktop applications;
  • a sound knowledge of WPF and user interface design;
  • experience working with databases (SQL, Postgres, or even NoSQL);
  • developing with Visual Studio in an Agile environment.
    Additional experience developing web applications with Java and/or JavaScript would be an asset, but isn’t the main focus of this role. Candidates will also need to have existing permissions to work in the UK, without restriction or need of sponsorship, already in place.

The C# Software Engineer will be working chiefly on the development of new software products and tools that are shipped with complex machines, though there will also be occasional maintenance of older products. You will enjoy writing clean and readable code, utilising common design patterns and techniques such as MVVM, DI or IOC.

On offer for the successful C# Software Engineer is a competitive remuneration package, including employer pension contributions, medical insurance and a number of other benefits. The company is based within easy reach of Cambridge, in dedicated R&D and manufacturing facilities with excellent transport links and onsite parking.
