An Oxford, UK based tech company are developing new computational approaches for next-generation research. Their company ethos is to think creatively and develop at fast pace. Their core technology uses Xilinx FPGAs to run a system-on-chip to control specific phase- and timing- RF waveform-based applications.

As a (Senior) FPGA Engineer, you will lead projects involved in FPGA-design for next-generation control architecture. You will work closely with the software team and write FPGA gateware in Migen, as well as have exposure to Python which is also used by the team.

Requirements:

  • You’ll have a degree in electronics or similar, but most importantly can demonstrate industry experience in leading and managing complex FPGA projects.
  • You’ll have experience of VHDL or Verilog and ideally have experience using Python-based HDLs.
  • You’ll have knowledge of open-standard architectures such as RISC-V.
  • As you’ll be working closely with the software team, you’ll appreciate how version control, automated testing and continuous integration works, and have used Python (which is a key benefit when using Python-based HDLs for FPGA designs).

In this role, the (Senior) FPGA Engineer will take leadership and key decisions in architectural plans and have a good overview of full technology stacks.
