Are you a recent PhD who enjoys taking the system view to problem solving? This company develops very complex large scale industrial printing systems. Each system is bespoke, so one view would be to say they provide a kit of parts. Their end customers frequently need a hand to commission the system. This role is primarily focused on the ink flow but also the system as a whole. Therefore you will need to be able to analyse fluid flow, mechanical design, electronics and software aspects of the system. The result of this analysis often requires you to return to the office to design a new component. Hence a broad skill base and strong analytical approach are key factors.

You will be an exceptional individual with a very good degree in a technical discipline from a world leading university. You probably went on to complete a PhD during which time you enhanced your interpersonal skills possibly taking on the project management aspects within your team. Alternatively you will have a few years commercial experience since obtaining your degree.

As the Systems Engineer – PhD graduate ideally you will have picked up skills in:

  • Control systems especially for mechanical systems
  • Fluid flow
  • Mechanical design, SolidWorks or similar CAD tools
  • A demonstrable interest in electronics and software

Don’t worry if you haven’t done all of these they will provide training, for example they would be quite happy for you to gain on the job training in SolidWorks.

This growing, highly successful company, are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is achievable in order to maintain their market lead, and they hold valuable and protected IP on some of the technologies they use. This role is to join an extremely talented team of mechanical, software, firmware and electronics engineers to continue their leading edge industrial driven technology.
