Software Developer: 3D printing and graphics (24769)
This company is a pioneer in 3D printing and manufacturing technologies. Their unique products combine a number of novel engineering concepts to vastly accelerate and simplify traditional printing processes. As they rapidly gain market prominence, they are looking to release their next generation of software products for end-users, creating an intuitive new CAD tool that works in association with their newest line of printers and equipment.
As the first external hire into a new and dedicated dev team, you’ll need to be a successful self-starter, with proven commercial experience developing 3D / CAD products in a modern software environment. Your commercial experience will have been built on a solid academic backing, with a likely 2.1 Honours degree in Computer Science or related numerate subject from a top-ranking Russell Group university.
Successful CVs will demonstrate:
- proficiency in a powerful, modern OO language (C++, Java, C# .Net or similar);
- experience in modern, Agile dev environments working with source control;
- expertise writing software for 3D geometry visualisation, ideally in a CAD/CAM application;
- confidence in cross-platform development for both Windows and Mac OS;
- knowledge of graphics rendering incl. working with CUDA or OpenGL;
- a strong grasp of 3D mathematics and geometry theory.
Additional experience developing for mobile or web platforms, and working with graphics SDKs and data import / conversion will be a great benefit to your application.
On offer for the successful starter will be a highly competitive salary package, working in a modern and dedicated R&D environment alongside the engineers and developers creating the novel printing products. Based on the outskirts of the historic city of Peterborough, the role is in an excellent location for anyone commuting across the A1 or A47 corridors.
