JavaScript for C# / Java Developers (24795)

This is a prime opportunity for a skilled C# or Java desktop developer looking to transition to the web and the cloud. Learn new skills and technologies in a top Cambridge tech company, whilst working on a highly successful JavaScript product, and contributing to design and discussions with a strong peer group of colleagues.

You don’t need existing experience of web development – though any you can bring is a great asset. From your degree and past experience, you will have an understanding of how the web works – from TCP/IP through HTTP, and browsers’ rendering HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript to enable not only websites but full applications – you just don’t need to have implemented them.

Your CV will evidence your:

• Good degree in computing or a related subject, from a reputable university; backed by some strong A-level grades (though you don’t need A* grades across the board, a good standard is required).
• Experience as a software developer in C# or Java, building highly successful and usable full stack applications – including work on UI as well as back-end code.
• Solid practitioner's understanding of object-oriented programming, including the basics of class-based OO versus prototype-based OO.
• Ability to develop in a reasonably agile manner, working closely with colleagues – but you don’t need to be a card carrying Agilist.
• Enthusiasm for transitioning to JavaScript development!

The company has great offices in a central Cambridge location – whilst they don’t have parking on site, they are convenient for public transport (walkable from the station) and there is city parking in easy reach as well as park and ride.
