JavaScript for Python Programmers (24796)

If you’re a skilled Python programmer with an interest in data visualisation, looking to transition to modern, JavaScript software development, this opportunity may appeal to you. Learn new skills and technologies in a top Cambridge tech company, whilst working on a highly successful JavaScript product, and contributing to design and discussions with a strong peer group of colleagues.

You don’t need existing experience of client side web development – though any you can bring is an asset. You will already have an understanding of how the web works, of networks and protocols. You may have written Python server-side code before, though this is not required.

Your CV will evidence your:

• Good degree in a scientific or engineering subject, from a top university; backed by strong A-level grades.
• Commercial (or equivalent) experience as part of a technically-focused team, where a good proportion of your own time was spent writing Python code. You will have a clear understanding of Python including its data types and object-oriented features.
• Interest in developing full software applications including graphical apps and algorithms.
• Ability to work in a reasonably “agile” manner, in the sense of iterating towards your collective goals, working closely with colleagues, and regularly producing (and taking stock of) your results.
• Enthusiasm for transitioning to JavaScript development!

The company has great offices in a central Cambridge location – whilst they don’t have parking on site, they are convenient for public transport (walkable from the station) and there is city parking in easy reach as well as park and ride.
