Embedded software for multidisciplinary projects

Are you an enthusiastic Embedded Software Engineer keen to expand your knowledge across a variety of product development? This well-respected company is looking for keen Embedded Software Engineers to join them in providing innovative solutions to challenging problems. The role would be ideal for a Software Engineer who wishes to continue to develop and broaden their experience.

Working with this company you will be involved in novel product development, working within a truly multidisciplinary team. You may work alongside Electronics Engineers, other Software Engineers, Biophysicists and Mechanical Engineers, hence benefit from the concomitant cross-fertilisation of knowledge and experience. Example projects include compact desktop instruments incorporating microfluidics handling; gas detection systems; real-time remote sensing for vehicles.

Varying levels of experience could be considered for this role, from recent graduate to senior engineer. A common theme will be your fascination with technology and the application of new ideas to difficult problems. This will, ideally, also be evident from your own hobby projects.

You will also have:

  • A 1st or 2:1 in electronics, software engineering, physics or similar from a world class university; a PhD would also be of interest.
  • Experience of developing real-time software for embedded systems in C (or C++).
  • Excellent understanding of physics and engineering principles and the ability to co-operate in a multi-disciplinary team.
