Fluid flow technology for materials innovation

A Senior Technologist is sought by a fresh Cambridge start-up, working on digital solutions to improve the sustainable manufacture of new materials.

The innovative technology encompasses physics, fluid dynamics, materials science, electronics and mechatronics. It requires sharp, enquiring minds to harness its full potential. Hands-on experience of developing prototypes, test rigs and efficiently taking the theoretical leaps necessary to stay ahead in this fast paced environment, whilst continuing to deliver excellence, will also be necessary.

The Senior Technologist will be able to inspire and support a positive, bright team of scientists and engineers from multidiscipline backgrounds. They will also be expected to communicate and collaborate with external teams.

Minimum experience and skills necessary for this role:

  • A PhD and a good (2.1 minimum) degree from well-respected universities
  • 3 years plus of commercial development and design experience of microfluidic systems and piezoelectric actuators
  • Fluid flow physics, including liquids, solids and complex fluids
  • Microfluidics and MEMS fabrication experience
  • Test rig design (ideally including CAD)

Full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship will also be required.
