Hey there! This is just one of many top career opportunities ECM can suggest — if this job isn't right for you, let us do the hard work! Tell us what you're looking for and we'll start searching for you. We promise to treat your CV as strictly confidential.

Greenfield software projects; Currently interviewing; Immediate start possible

Our client is a Cambridge based scientific technology company, looking to develop molecular biology products used for healthcare and medical applications. They implement mathematics and software to assist in their overall product development process and are looking for a Software Developer to work on data science centric tools.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support the work by scientists by automating processes and writing tools to help visualise data for analysis. This could include a platform to standardise data from different diagnostic instruments. You will also work with mathematicians to help develop data analytic tools, and develop in-house tools used in bioinformatics and data science.

Requirements:

  • Degree in computer science, maths, physics or similar.
  • Commercial software experience writing visualisation pipeline tools based around manipulation of numerical data. Will have experience of modern languages such as C#, JavaScript, C++ or Java.
  • Exposure to scientific instrumentation data formats such as CSV files.
  • Experience with numerical Python scripts and understanding of how to turn this into maintainable code.
  • Ambitions to lead projects and a team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on greenfield projects, and play a significant role in shaping the tools developed and used by this company. In turn, whilst this is a hands-on position, there are future plans to grow the software team and this can lead to managerial responsibilities.
