Design and build large-scale experiments for particle probing

Are you a motivated and enthused experimental physicist, eager to work on cutting-edge development in high energy density physics? This role is to join a small team designing and building large-scale experiments to study high velocity impacts involving x-ray imaging, spectroscopy and particle detection. Your work will involve devising new solutions to substantial experimental problems; this will involve selecting and customising complex instrumentation as well as creating new experimental designs to be used for diagnostics..

The successful candidate will have the following:-

  • PhD in physics and good first degree from a highly-ranked university in physics or similar
  • Ingenuity in devising and customising experiments, specifically in particle detection and analysis
  • Experience working in an experimental research team
  • Enthusiasm and desire to work in a transformational real-world team environment

This dynamic company is well-funded and offers a friendly working environment close to Oxford. Working alongside the experimental physicists are complementary teams of simulation scientists and computational physicists. There are also close links to academic collaborators.
