Technical leadership on projects where instrumentation and electronics interface

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systems Engineer / Sensor Physicist to join this technology focused consultancy and work on a variety of projects in applied industries. Their key expertise in electronics, software and systems engineering allows them to develop and build innovative solutions for complex real-world problems. This can be for sophisticated sensors picking up sensitive analogue signals (environmental, healthcare, utilities) to be processed as digital data through hardware and software.

In this lead position, you will be a point-of-reference within the team for sensors, modelling, physics characterisations, and electronics interfacing; and this will include presenting technical work to clients and discussing concepts for projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience working on complex hardware systems involving multidisciplinary engineering and scientific attributes.
  • Experience in analysis and modelling of electronics systems.
  • Broad understanding of physics related to sensors development.
  • A strong academic background including a relevant technical degree from a well-regarded university.

Specific project experience with high-precision instrumentation, control electronics, or electromechanical components would be desirable. Further, whilst any experience with consultancy projects would be beneficial, experience with delivering technical presentations would be expected as strong communications skills are needed.

In return, an excellent remuneration package is on offer including share options. Also, future occasional travel to meet clients based worldwide is possible.
