Creating a digital platform for healthcare using JavaScript, React and REST

If you would like to be in on the ground floor of a health-tech start-up with the aim of creating a quicker route to effective treatment, whilst having the chance to shape the technical direction of the product, then this may be the opportunity for you.

Taking a modern and innovative approach to treatment delivered digitally, this company will improve the access and coverage to tailored advice and exercises to address musculoskeletal issues. The founders have backgrounds in healthcare and delivering large scale software solutions. They intend to make their content accessible via the web and mobile apps, and so are looking to expand their software team.

The role of Front-End Engineer will involve cross platform development and testing, whilst at the level of Lead Engineer, opportunities will include having considerable input into the creation of the engineering processes and shaping the strategy for future development. Although the team is currently language agnostic, it is expected that engineers will be excited to learn new languages and tools as the requirements evolve, and who take pride in producing graphically stunning and clear interfaces.

Sought after skills and attributes:

  • A good technical degree in a subject such as Computer Science, Maths or Physics from a well-respected university
  • Skilled in Next/React and JavaScript for browser front-ends
  • Good knowledge of Python/Django, in combination with REST for APIs
  • Experience with ReactNative (with NativeBase) for mobile applications
  • Familiarity with testing using Storybook, Cypress and Jest

This role is open to commercially experienced and newly graduated engineers alike; but it is expected you will be able to demonstrate advanced coding skills and evidence of good appreciation of the challenges presented by the operation and scale of applications. Full right to work in the UK without time limit or sponsorship will also needed as the company will not be able to support sponsorship.
