Scientific equipment software development

In this role you will be developing software to control and capture data from a variety of high-grade scientific laboratory equipment. You will also be developing data analysis and presentation software specifically designed to work in conjunction with the same scientific laboratory equipment. This work will be carried out in a team of engineers and scientists and will involve working on both experimental cutting-edge projects as well as existing products.

Working for a company that dedicates a large amount of time and money on R&D means you will need to be flexible in your approach, willing to learn new skills and use the right tool for the job. The skills required today may be different tomorrow so you will need to adaptable to thrive in this role.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in C++ or C# for the backend and JavaScript/Typescript with React for the frontend
  • Demonstrable experience designing and developing user interfaces
  • Good practical knowledge of working on real time systems including pre-emptive and cooperative multitasking, message queues and time multiplexing
  • Previous experience working on scientific instruments or interfacing with hardware would be beneficial but are not required
