A good mix of practical electronic engineering and software development

An excellent opportunity to join a constructive and welcoming team of scientists and engineers in modern, spacious, purpose built labs in the centre of Cambridge.

This company is focussed on innovation and the multi-skilled team enjoy working on a good variety of projects at any one time. The work will include development for electromechanical devices from concept through to production, including prototyping and testing. You will need a thorough understanding of components, sensors, actuators and the systems and software supporting them, with good ability in two or more coding languages such as C, C++, Python and VHDL.

The versatile team regularly present their progress to clients and stakeholders, so you will have the opportunity to continue developing already established communication skills and there is also the potential for occasional travel to clients’ sites or conferences.

You will need:

  • A good scientific or technical degree (2:1 or above) from a well-respected university, backed by mostly A grades at A-level.
  • Evidence of comfort writing embedded software and designing electronic circuits and PCBs
  • Practical lab experience with test equipment, including power supplies and oscilloscopes
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to incorporate a client-facing element into your career

Full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship will also be required, as our client in unable to provide sponsorship.
