Data intensive web tools development for the financial industry

This FinTech data team are looking for a backend web developer to join them in building data monitoring tools. They work with many of the top financial companies in the world providing data services. For an idea of scale, they regularly work with databases in the hundreds of gigabytes in size as well as real-time financial market data. Their tools ensure the continued smooth running of the world’s financial markets.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience with PHP and large MYSQL databases (hundreds of gigabytes).
  • Knowledge of a modern backend language and web framework such as Python with Django or JavaScript with NodeJS.
  • Good understanding of commercial web development practices including API design and security.
  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar.
  • Full rights to work in the UK without time restriction.

While you will be working as part of a team you will also be provided the autonomy to manage your own projects as you see fit. And with offices in North America, Europe, and Asia there is scope to travel widely as part of this role.
