Lead Mechanical Design Engineer (27158)

Cambridge (South)
to £65,000 DoE + Benefits

Unique opportunity to contribute to a medical revolution

This newly launched and well-funded company has both the technology and ambition to significantly improve the availability of cutting-edge medical treatments through automated and robotic manufacture. Having spent three years in stealth developing the key enabling technologies, they are now unveiling their first products and building up their engineering teams.

You will be taking on the critical task of ensuring designs are robust and manufacturable, working from precise manipulation devices to whole-warehouse scale robotics. While working on the critical components you will also use your expertise to guide other team members in their own designs. Stable and reliable designs are the goal, but speed in both design and manufacture is key.

Requirements:

  • Industrial experience designing, developing, and delivering electro-mechanical products into manufacture
  • Specific experience developing either precise complex devices, or large-scale automation systems (or both)
  • Highly skilled with both analytical design techniques (e.g. tolerance analysis) and 3D CAD systems (ideally SolidWorks)
  • A working knowledge of electronics and control systems

A background in medical devices, life science instruments, consumer products, automotive, or aerospace would be valuable, but is not required.

Situated in brand-new office space alongside extensive engineering facilities, this company is primed for growth. On offer alongside the salary is a comprehensive set of benefits including generous pension contributions, private medical insurance, and enhanced family friendly leave.

Please note: even if you don’t have exactly the background indicated, do contact us now if this type of job is of interest – we may well have similar opportunities that you would be suited to. And of course, we always get your permission before submitting your CV to a company.
