RF Antenna Engineer (27549)

Cambridge
£DoE + Benefits

Design, simulation, validation and integration of high-performance RF sensing technology

Surround yourself with state-of-the-art tools and experts in RF engineering, so you can showcase your brilliance in designing new wideband antennas for RF sensing and communication applications. You’ll be tasked to prototype new designs, testing and validating your new technologies in the lab as well as anechoic chambers, and subsequently in real-world environments.

To do your best work, you’ll be given top tools and equipment so you can assess capabilities, optimise performance, and make amendments to improve designs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronics, ideally including demonstrable academic research in RF engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience with compact RF antenna design for wideband applications ideally within mobile platforms.
  • Experience using CDT Studio Suite for EM simulations, which should inform decisions in RF system architecture and signal propagation.
  • Expertise with RF measurement techniques.

The role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, backed up with a thorough understanding of RF fundamentals and principles. Further, project work is not just theoretical, so the flexibility and willingness to attend occasional field tests is needed.

Due to relevant applications in defence, applicants do need to be eligible to past UK security vetting processes which includes established residency in the UK. Applicants on time-restricted work visas will not be considered.
