Systems Test Engineer (27550)
Complex technical systems require a barrage of tests to ensure robustness and functionality even when subjected to real-world environments. As their next Systems Engineer, you’ll be tasked to think like a user, operating these complex RF devices and stress testing these systems to their limits. Much of the work will be manual testing of CRFS systems including GUI controls, but there are also regression tests of firmware and software. This all needs to be carefully monitored and documented through their quality management system.
Requirements:
- Ideally degree qualified in electronics although relevant experience and transferable skills including domain knowledge is more important.
- Test engineer’s mindset – knowing how to break systems in order to improve them. This should include bug detection, test plans, UX glitches and recognising edge cases.
- Comfortable with Linux systems and command-line tools.
- Experience with embedded systems testing, Python scripting for test automation and / or RF analysis tools would be desirable.
The role would suit someone in a similar role or an RF technician wanting to move into test engineering. As application area includes the military, interested applicants should be eligible for basic security vetting. Applicants should therefore have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. The company is unable sponsor or hire those on visas (spousal, student or similar).
The role would predominately be office based, although some hybrid working is possible when project work allows.
