Lead / Senior Software Engineer (27701)
Based a few miles south of Cambridge, this not-for-profit organisation is helping to tackle human diseases and disorders. They are revolutionising their digital platform and are putting together a dedicated, small team to work alongside external partners. A key position is for a Lead / Senior Software Engineer who reports directly to the CIO and will take a significant role in improving the user experience, and building using modern technologies.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable commercial experience as a senior or lead software engineering working on modern websites or digital platforms with proven full stack engineering skills including front end technologies (React or Next.js). Additional experience with Python / Django for back-end would be desirable.
- Strong understanding of front-end web architecture including React, Headless CMS and relevant CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure with AI tools for engineering efficiency.
- Experience with scalable, cloud-based secure web platforms, preferably integrating CRM, marketing analytics or payment transactions.
- Experience with line-management of direct reports and performance appraisals would be beneficial.
This is a 24 months fixed term contract (with possibilities of extension). Hybrid work options are available as part of their flexible work policy (2 days in the office). Candidates are expected to have full, unrestricted rights to work in the UK. Strong preference for those living close to the Cambridge area.
