• an excellent understanding of Java – you’ll know why the language works, not just what a command does;
• expertise in a number of frameworks and libraries, with further knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure etc.) being a big bonus;
• familiarity with modern dev practices, including source control / CI, Agile or TDD.
