Embedded Software Engineer (24522)

Are you a bright experienced Embedded Software Engineer looking to further develop your career in a challenging hands-on development role, rather than go down the management track?

This US headquartered technology company, developing innovative audio / video applications, are now looking to grow their research & development team, based on a modern site in Cambridge, UK (with excellent railway transport links).

You will join an experienced, but small team of engineers, leaving behind the stifling, corporate culture that many companies work under; in a relaxed, friendly working environment. You will have access to extensive development kit / tools, real project responsibilities in development, peers who (like you) are well-proven engineers, and no micro-management or mentoring duties. Key technology areas will include: the design / development of interactive video and audio streaming applications and the development of embedded products in C / C++ for a variety of platforms (mainly embedded Linux).

You should ideally offer most of the following:

• A strong academic profile (ideally top degree from a top university in computer science, engineering or similar)
• A detailed knowledge of the design / programming embedded Linux systems
• Excellent C++ and C skills
• Experience of audio, video and graphics programming
• An understanding of audio and video file formats
