Expert needed for early stage GPU technology development

An opportunity has now arisen within our client’s research team for a creative and experienced GPU Engineer. You would be working on developing early-stage concepts which will subsequently form the basis of industry-leading communication products for the consumer electronics sector. As well as creating innovative solutions for various hardware platforms, you will work collaboratively with product development teams to ensure that the maximum possible performance is extracted from the end product.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • An excellent academic background with a 1st or 2:1 degree in computer science, electronics, or a similarly applicable subject from a top university.
  • A broad and deep understanding of GPU technology (both software and hardware), accrued through significant industry experience. As this is a research role it’s difficult to be prescriptive, but expertise covering such aspects as Compute Shaders, CUDA, OpenGL or DirectX, GLSL/HLSL may be indicative.
  • Solid C/C++ coding skills.
  • Experience in video and audio codecs, compression algorithms, and streaming. An understanding of ASIC design would be beneficial.
