Senior / Principal Software Engineer (24911)
This innovative Cambridge robotics startup is developing rugged, precision semi-autonomous robots for use in the UK and abroad. They are well funded and the founders have a good pedigree in the Cambridge tech scene.
They are seeking exceptional hands-on developers who can work with ARM technology, in C++ (11 onwards) and C#, with GPU / GPGPU code, and with robotics and computer vision. Your skills in the vast majority of these will be exemplary, current and clear in your CV. The company pay well, but you will have a strong interest in startups, and favour their future potential in stock options over short term gain in remuneration.
Robots' on-board systems are driven by a full PC/server performance-equivalent system incorporating specialised hardware for intensive computer vision. A sister embedded ARM real-time system communicates via onboard networking. C# is used for prototyping and “glue” code and migrated to C++ as it matures.
As the company moves rapidly to evolve their platform, capitalise on current markets and apply their technology to new fields, you will be happy to work in diverse areas as required. The culture is egalitarian and responsibilities are shared. You will have strong mathematical ability, a top degree in computing or a relevant subject, and strong A-level grades. You will also have full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship.
Since the company is at a critical stage of their evolution, only the top few candidates can be considered for this role in the near term.
