This growing Cambridge company with offices around the world, takes pride in supplying its clients with innovative methods for managing their geospatial data, allowing them to make informed decisions to maximise their profitability and efficiency.

They are looking for a Senior Java Developer with a real interest in technology and keen to contribute to an energetic, Agile team environment; who will be enthusiastic to be involved in developing new products and creating inventive solutions across the full stack, to meet their clients’ geospatial data management needs. That may involve developing new SOAP and REST APIs utilising cloud services, such as AWS, as well as containers.

The right candidate will be bright, motivated, approachable and have great communication skills. They will also pay close attention to detail and be committed to continuous improvement.

Minimum experience and skills necessary for this role:

  • A good degree in a technical subject from a well-respected university
  • Excellent Java development skills
  • Good experience with version control tooling (such as git) and build tooling (Maven or Gradle)

Experience with any of the following would also be beneficial:

  • Java EE application servers and continuous integration servers (Jenkins / Hudson or TeamCity)
  • AWS and cloud services
  • Databases (Oracle, Postgres, SQL and / or NoSQL)
  • Docker and / or Kubernetes
  • GIS or geometry manipulation
  • Developing SOAP and REST APIs

Full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship will also be required.
