Original research into audio algorithms utilising machine learning

A disruptive Cambridge start-up in the field of audio technology is looking to expand their team with excellent, experienced mathematicians who have the creative flair to conduct original research into fundamental and application-motivated solutions.

The rapid growth of the company is fuelled by their patented machine learning and artificial intelligence technology and is at the vanguard of audio research. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a developing application that will have a lasting positive impact on people’s everyday lives; combining excellent career prospects and development with the “feel-good factor” that comes from knowing your work helps other people.

This is a senior role, reflected by the attributes and experience required. An excellent degree and PhD in Maths or similar technical subject, from Russell Group universities will be expected along with the following minimum experience and skills necessary for this role:

  • Excellent mathematical skills and the evidence to prove it – we’re looking for an excellent mathematical academic background combined with post-doctoral or commercial research experience in audio signal processing
  • Substantial skills and experience in prototyping algorithms using either Python, C, C++ or MATLAB
    Ideally, you will also have experience of some of the following:
  • Optimisation theory, Bayesian methods, complex tensor calculus and other machine learning related methods
  • Technical writing and patent applications
