Interact with customers by providing scientific expertise for drug discovery

This Cambridge based company develops sophisticated instrumentation applications for the life science sector, including biological drug discovery. To evangelise about their products and further grow their market share, they are looking for a Senior Application Scientist.

In this role, it is a mix of in-house applied research projects, feasibility studies and demonstrations. Research and studies would be applied to new product development; and demonstrations would be part of training and troubleshooting. Unsurprisingly, the role would entail travel and attendance on client sites and conferences.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Applied Life Sciences, Biophysics or similar. Project experience should include either scientific instrumentation development, biotherapeutics development or bioprocess engineering.
  • Exposure to microfluidics for drug discovery or molecular biodiagnostics.
  • Excellent communication skills – must be comfortable presenting technical work, and speaking to a varied audience type (both technical and non-technical); and strong written skills (for documentation).
  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time (including overseas travel).

Applications from recently qualified PhDs or Application Scientists with relevant commercial experience in a similar type of role are strongly welcomed.

In return, an excellent remuneration package is available as well as the opportunity to work with smart people in a supportive work environment.
