Experienced Software Test Engineer (25149)

Our client is a well-respected company in Cambridge at the forefront of AI data mining technology. They seek curious minds, flexible personalities and people with a practical approach to software testing to join their energetic team. Their test engineers are a core part of their business, not only testing software but assisting with new cloud deployments, and supporting application specialists on consulting projects. Test engineers are encouraged to use their experience and judgement to assess the appropriate approach for the situation, and could utilise exploratory testing, checklists, test scripts, tools or automated testing.

Minimum experience and skills necessary for this role:

• A good degree in a technical subject from a well-respected university plus at least three years’ commercial experience in software testing
• A background in software performance testing, test automation, and exploratory testing
• Knowledge of web services and applications such as REST, HTTP and Fiddler
• Programming experience in at least 3 of the following languages: Perl, Python, Java, C++, JavaScript
• Great communication skills, in both written and spoken English

If you also have a background in natural language processing, foreign languages, security or life sciences, that would be an added bonus.

Full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship will also be required.
