Advanced micro- and nano- fabrication for high-value hi-tech processes

A Process Engineer is wanted by our client to support and deliver novel micro- and nano-devices / MEMS. This is based in purpose built microfabrication labs / cleanroom and requires high quality, self-driven work using state of the art equipment and processes.

Our client develops novel micron-scaled devices across a range of industrial applications – intersecting fluidics, sensing, printing, optics and electronics. A key aspect of the role will be microfabrication of these solutions so experience of design, mask making, material choice, process development, fabrication, packaging and testing is expected. In addition, the Process Engineer will take responsibility for maintaining the stocks, high-value equipment and cleanroom.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant area (physics, materials or electronics)
  • Existing industrial experience working in cleanrooms
  • Process knowledge within a cleanroom in areas including photolithography, wet / dry etching, metal evaporation / sputtering, bonding, embossing, wafer dicing and chip testing

Processes will involve the use of strong acids / alkalis and other volatile chemicals so a thorough understanding of health and safety aspects is required.

This is a hands-on role, mainly cleanroom based, where you will build your collective ideas into world-beating products. You will also be somebody with excellent communication skills who will enjoy working closely with scientist and engineer colleagues.

As well as providing a stimulating and creative environment, the client offers an excellent salary with commensurate benefits including bonus.
