This successful company seeks a Mechanical Engineer who combines excellent scientific understanding with hands-on practical acumen. Our client develops innovative high-precision products and systems for a range of blue-chip companies, working at all project stages from concept through to implementation. Currently, projects are focused around the area of medical devices; other areas of work include wearable devices, consumer products and biotechnologies.

They now seek a Mechanical Engineer with specific experience in making the design decisions which take an initial prototype through to manufacture. Typical areas of expertise will include injection moulding, tooling design, cost and risk analysis as well as documentation throughout.

As well as gaining an excellent undergraduate degree (1st or 2.1 from a highly-ranked university) in Mechanical Engineering, you will have experience in real-world projects. You must be able to demonstrate your skills have been applied to projects involving high-precision sensors or devices, whether in hand-held products or large complex systems incorporating mechanical, electronics and software.

The role will involve talking to external customers, hence the client is looking for candidates with confident communication skills.
