C# Software Developer (26080)

Desktop applications with mathematical and/or graphical interests

A recent start-up designing scientific instrumentation are forming a small software team. This role is to work on PC application software, working alongside the engineering and biology teams to develop new instrument control and data analysis systems to allow scientists to perform complex experiments as simply and efficiently as possible.

As a Software Developer you will have good understanding of designing C# software for commercial applications and possess a good technical degree from a top university. Your skills will include:

  • Thorough understanding of C# / WPF, in a complex, heavily multi-threaded application
  • Familiarity with Agile development concepts and test-driven development
  • Experience of source control and software build processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other teams across various disciplines

A bonus would be strong mathematical background allowing you to contribute more to the scientific aspects of their work. Alternatively, knowledge of software for image processing / machine vision would permit involvement in that area of their development.

This dynamic company offers challenging work and a friendly, fun working environment. Currently working mostly from home, the team plans to return to the office but there are options for continuing a day or two a week from home. Hence you will need to be within normal commuting distance of their Cambridge office.
