Must also have some understanding of electronics

This company is seeking a Physical Chemist or Biophysical Scientist with some knowledge of electronic design, such that you are able to get a handle on the whole solution. The design of a medical device is an effective way to describe the type of work carried out.

Your career path to this role is probably a Chemistry or Biology degree, and then perhaps a PhD. Ideally you have progressed into industry via full-time work or internships, where you have completed several commercial multidisciplinary designs, though some electronics exposure during your PhD could be an alternative.

This is an ideal opportunity to join a consultancy and rapidly expand your design skill set. You will need to demonstrate a strong academic background from a world leading university in a STEM subject, and be able to convince this client you have reasonable understanding of how you might interface your design with the electronics.

This position is within a mixed discipline team, so you will have backup on the electronics side of things. This is an excellent opportunity to develop leading edge designs for the most demanding end products. This consultancy takes concepts to reality, working through the entire product development life-cycle. You will be given responsibility, and strive to solve challenging problems with a variety of work that allows high performers to progress quickly.

It is preferred if you are able to obtain UK security clearance for the occasional project, whilst most don't require this.
