C++ development and software architecture with a growing robotics start-up

Start-ups by nature are lean and fast, and can adapt to the ever-changing market and global environment. This tech company has seized the opportunity to launch their robotic products for real-time analytics within logistics and supply chains. Their solutions are cheaper than existing infrastructure-based platforms, and enable their customers to keep up with increases in demand from their markets.

With new investment in place, they seek a Senior C++ Developer to join their core software team to lead projects in productisation of software systems including code to manage sensors, navigation and processing sensor data. This will include architecting and building robust systems, connecting with hardware, and producing modern C++ code that can be maintained and optimised as new features are implemented.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable project experience developing commercial code for robust systems (ideally safety-critical platforms).
  • Lead software projects that involve inputs to system architecture, interactions with sensor-based hardware and low latency communications.
  • Extensive experience with production ready C++ coding on Linux and modern software practices (code reviews, agile development, continuous builds, and automated testing).
  • Experience with: robotics (ROS), computer vision, embedded systems, autonomous navigation systems (LIDAR, UAV, inertial sensors) would be desirable.

Applicants are expected to be degree holders (computer science, physics, engineering or similar), and perhaps also hold advanced degrees.

In return, as well as working on cutting-edge technology, you'll be at a company that supports a flexible approach to working, having access to their offices and workshop (can be be a hybrid remote role with minimally 2 days per week in the office) . Remunerations include share options, choice of computing equipment and a budget for annual training and attendance to conferences. Further, the company will provide time for you to work on your own projects.
