Broaden your skills by building an e-commerce website with the latest technology

This ambitious Cambridge-based online product company is in the process of reengineering their retail site by leveraging the latest technologies, and are seeking to grow their engineering team. This is a great opportunity to expand your technical horizons within a friendly, small-company environment.

You will need:

  • A good academic record with a 1st or 2.1 in a relevant STEM subject from a well-respected university
  • Solid programming skills in JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • A good understanding of SQL databases, and software engineering best practice
  • Some familiarity with AWS and preferably also Docker, Node.JS and React
  • Full existing right to work in the UK without sponsorship, time limit, or restriction

In this role you would be involved with all aspects of software development, deployment, security, and creating automated tests. You would be building on your technical skills – using React to create bespoke user interface functionality; expanding your knowledge of AWS, databases, Rest API design; and containerisation. You would use Golang to create specialised back-end functionality for tailoring the customer’s shopping experience.

The company are operating a hybrid work model with a mix of work-from-home and time in their centrally located Cambridge offices. This is a great opportunity to pick up new skills whilst working for a successful and expanding company.
