Physics for biotechnologies including diagnostics and automation

This varied role is for an Experimental Physicist to develop products within a multidisciplinary team that embraces physics, biology and engineering. Areas of work include products and processes for cell therapies, personalised medicine and synthetic biology.

The successful Experimental Physicist will exhibit a clear experimental, hands-on approach, with a strong theoretical foundation and the ability to solve complex problems through accurate analytical work. You will have a creative and inquisitive mind, able to make that connection between an interesting phenomenon in the lab and the potential for a novel development in life science instrumentation or diagnostics.

Your CV will demonstrate the following technical background and personal qualities: -

  • An excellent undergraduate degree in physics from a highly-ranked world-class university
  • An experimental PhD or equivalent industrial experience with evidence of instrumentation development, specifically within the life-sciences sector
  • Evidence of design and development of test apparatus to improve processes and system performance
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop collaborative relationships with your colleagues and clients
