Forge new developments for an energy trading platform

This successful small company places a strong emphasis on research and development for their energy trading platform. They wish to recruit a Product Manager to guide the development of new software products and optimisation services. These are used by clients with electricity generating and storage assets in the form of gas peakers, batteries and renewables, enabling them to maintain continuous power delivery at the lowest greenhouse gas emission option.

The Product Manager will use their knowledge of the short-term power market to outline opportunities in the evolution of their bespoke trading software platform. The Product Manager will also be involved in horizon scanning, seeking out new ideas and markets for further expansion.

There will be plenty of collaboration with the software development team, the traders who use the software to control and optimise assets as well as with the data science team performing the analysis. Your ideas and innovations will be valued by the company founders.

To contribute successfully to this highly motivated team, you will have the following attributes:

  • 1st or 2.1 degree in STEM subject from a highly-ranked university.
  • Experience in the UK short-term energy market: Day-Ahead, Intraday, Balancing Mechanism and Imbalance Settlement.
  • Ability to lead projects, make decisions and generate new ideas.
  • Enthusiasm to work in a dynamic real-world team environment with the ability to contribute ideas.

The development team are based in central Bristol and adopt a flexible working pattern.
