Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be part of a tech revolutionary wave where your contributions bring to market new solutions that can impact and accelerate science and applied engineering?

This start-up is on that verge, and their core research is being developed and applied. They combine physics with engineering and software, and investors are funding them to take their next steps. They are currently growing and this includes their software team. They are looking for suitable Senior Software Engineer profiles to join them.

Projects at this time are varied and include: the development of innovative compilers; writing embedded firmware using Rust; designing high-level APIs for new computer tech stacks; developing infrastructure code. They are looking for people with interests in these different areas (not necessarily experienced in all parts).

If this sounds of interest, please send in your application which should demonstrate your experience in one or more of:

  • Developing software using version-controlled Python including possible experience compiling Python to machine code for quick prototyping.
  • Working with and expert knowledge of assembly language programming. Any exposure to Rust would be desirable.

Moreover, exposure and interest in FPGAs / digital electronics and quantum computing would be beneficial.

The team work closely with physicists, so good communication skills are needed, where technical jargon can be translated from one discipline to another.

The role is based at their Oxfordshire offices, and hybrid working is possible (up to 3 days per week remotely). Their remuneration package includes a very attractive salary and unlimited holiday allowance. They also look to support employees achieve their work goals and provide tools that users want.
