Comms - Physical Layer Engineer (26294)
A leading role in physical layer design working on smart connected devices, which may include NFC, Bluetooth and other wireless protocols. The role spans hardware and software algorithm design, implementation, test, chip bring up and characterisation. You will be expected to demonstrate ability to innovate and make architectural/design trade-offs for balancing performance/power/area of designs.
In this position you will bridge the gap with other global teams (digital, RF design, firmware, and software) to specify, architect, and implement algorithms. You will be a technical authority and a key contributor on DSP, communication system design, implementation and verification of a range of wireless chips. Overall you will be comfortable taking ownership of your design.
Along with a good STEM degree from a leading university, you will need to be able to demonstrate many of the following:
- Solid knowledge of signal processing, system modelling and algorithm design
- Strong mathematical and statistical analysis skills
- Track record of implementing wireless communication standards
- Good understanding of fixed-point algorithmic implementation/optimisation
- Strong knowledge of RF issues
- Experience in MATLAB, C/C++
