Working on varied regulated projects for healthcare and diagnostic applications

Do you have experience working on regulated mechanical engineering projects? Are you looking for a supportive company that will develop and further your career whilst providing you technically challenging projects to work on? We're looking for experienced Mechanical Engineers to join this bespoke technical consultancy. Their expertise has been sought by clients based around the world, and this has led to a number of award-winning, innovative products being developed.

Projects they have undertaken are usually hand-held or desktop instrument / medical-device development, and can incorporate different materials as well as engineering complexities. Work is varied, as projects can cover conceptual design through human factors, testing and verification, risk analysis, prototyping, and manufacture. Further, as this is a consultancy, there is some client-contact through meetings and technical presentations.

Requirements

  • ACADEMICS: 1st or 2.1 degree in mechanical engineering, supported with strong mathematical understanding.
  • PROJECT EXPERIENCE: A track record of regulated device product development (ideally medical but would also consider automotive, aerospace, defence backgrounds).
  • TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE: Strong understanding and implementation of engineering principles including analysis and modelling; experience with 2D and 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks). Further experience with high volume device manufacturing (1M+ units), FEA, CFD, DfM and product life cycle management would be highly desirable.
  • CONSULTANCY EXPERIENCE: no prior technical consultancy experience is needed (although this would be a bonus), but the role would require good communication skills, so strong presentation experience would be beneficial.

The role would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, likes to work within a team but can take a lead on projects when needed. The company will support you within this role and provide internal opportunities to grow and develop your skills. On offer is a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package where your well-being (as well as the team you are working in) is central for overall productivity. Hybrid-working is available (working from home up to 2 days per week).

The company is committed to diversity, equality and inclusion - providing equal opportunities for all. The company's success is built on providing growth for all employees.
